I obtained my BSc degree from Bates College, USA and my MSc degree in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands. I obtained a NWO Research Talent PhD scholarship.
Generally, I am interested in understanding how different factors, such as prior expectation, affect the way we perceive the world.
Currently, I am studying how familiarity and prior expectation modulate the sensory response to object stimuli over time, using magnetoencephalography (MEG). I am also investigating the effects of expectation on perceptual appearance using psychophysical methods.
When I'm not in the lab, I love reading novels and walking around parks and quaint towns. I also love cooking and eating delicious food (that's a highly unique hobby, I know).
