The idea that our brain continuously predicts and perceives the world around us deeply fascinates me. We encounter an abundance of stimuli in our daily lives, helping us build a model of the world. To this end, we do not need to see objects in their entirety to identify them, but how do we “fill in the gap” when objects are occluded? The main objective of my internship is to decode the features used to predict occluded stimuli in scenes using fMRI data.
I am currently pursuing my MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud Universiteit. Before this, I pursued a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I did my internship at the CNCR under the supervision of dr. Mahesh Karnani where I investigated the architecture of the neural circuitry involved in feeding and drinking behaviour in mice.
I have too many interests but I regularly read books, discover new music, learn/maintain languages, bake banana bread, and go bouldering.
