The ability to make sense of incomplete or ambiguous information is vital for our survival and success in our dynamic and noisy world. How do we fill in the blanks? How do we see beyond the noise? To answer questions like these, I turn to AI-inspired neuroscience. By using artificial neural networks as models of visual perception, I seek to uncover the mechanisms that underly the ability to understand our complex world.
Before I joined the Predictive Brain Lab I obtained a BSc. In Psychology and a MSc. In Systems Biology at Maastricht University. I learned to combine mathematics, biology, and data science to model all sorts of biological systems, while focusing on computational and systems neuroscience.
