Post-Doctoral Researcher

I am interested in how predictions shape our perceptual experience and influence our active information sampling across different levels of processing. In my current project, I am investigating how predictions and uncertainty intrinsically drive us to seek information, both implicitly, in the way that we sample evidence through our gaze, as well as explicitly, in the way that our subjective curiosity motivates us to gather knowledge.

I did my PhD at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Elisa Filevich, during which I examined the influence of prior knowledge on both perceptual decisions as well as confidence about those decisions, and found dissociations in the role of priors across these processing levels. I focused on a combination of psychophysical and computational methods.
