Thirza Dado

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Predictive Brain Lab, where I study curiosity in biological and artificial systems. This intrinsic drive compels us to seek information and engage with the unknown, not for external rewards like money or praise, but for the intellectual satisfaction of knowing --- a fulfillment that comes from within. Specifically, I investigate how curiosity emerges and shapes exploratory behavior in virtual environments, where both humans and artificial agents navigate uncertainty and uncover new information.

Previously, I completed my PhD on neural coding with synthesized reality, which was funded by a personal top-talent fellowship. I also hold double master's degrees in artificial intelligence and cognitive neuroscience, both with cum laude.
