My general research interest is to understand the mental process of perceiving the world, from a single object, a complex scene, and to the dynamic evoluting surroundings. To this end, I investigate the biological implementation in the visual cortex via neuroimaging and the in silico models including a variety of neural networks, and strive to bridge them. In my thesis project, I will gather fMRI data reacting to visual stimuli and investigate what and how experimental manipulations would change the representational geometry of neural signal-neural network feature correlations.
I am currently a psychology research master's student at the University of Amsterdam. In UvA I worked with Dr. H.Steven Scholte on my internship project in which we explored how viewpoint diversity in images would shape CNN performance. Prior to that, I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology at Tsinghua University, Beijing.
I really enjoy nature (not the journal), movies, and board games with friends. On a rainy day in Amsterdam, I would curl up with a good book in my 10-year-old kindle :)
